The seventh annual cycling event, food festival and sports expo is expected to attract some 2,400 riders.

“This year’s food lineup is terrific,” said Kim Heim from Main Street Oceanside (www.msoceanside.com). “The menus range from classic barbecue to Latin street foods. We’ll also be including island cuisines, Asian specialties and some new fusion food favorites. Come hungry and plan to stay for all the fun and delicious food.”

Main Street Oceanside, producers of the weekly Farmers and Sunset Markets in Oceanside, will bring in a range of popular local food providers from their weekly market to serve riders and the general public. Among the options available at Bike The Coast will be Kalua pork, Polish sausages, smoked tuna sliders, handmade Argentine arepas and handmade Asian dumplings. There will also be vegan and gluten-free options available.

For the third consecutive year, APX Sport Drink will be the official fluid replacement drink at Bike The Coast. All natural, APX (www.apxsportdrink.com) includes both energy and replacement elements and comes in three tangy flavors – tangerine, pomegranate and ruby red grapefruit.

The first riders in the 100-mile ride will depart shortly before 7 am with the festival at the Oceanside Pier expected to conclude around 5 pm.
